The Puppet Show division of Ernst Busch School of Acting has been lodged in close proximity to the Theater in der Parkaue since 2000. Over a period of four years students receive a thorough grounding in performing professional puppet shows and, in co-operation with other theatres, even stage complete plays as part of their practical apprenticeships.

As part of Herzberge Hospital the boiler house was built between 1889 and 1893 in neo-Classical style, according to plans drawn up by City building officer Hermann W.A. Blankenstein. The vapour generated in the boiler house provided heating and hot water for the hospital.
